Ms. J, 14 year old girl from Mauritius came to us with severe scoliosis, which had been progressing. Her daily activities were restricted due the breathing issues. She underwent “Posterior Scoliosis Correction and Fusion” by Dr. Naveen Tahasildar – Consultant Spine Surgeon at Sparsh Hospitals, Bommasandra in May 2015. She underwent rehabilitation and could walk comfortably few days after surgery. The Xrays showed a satisfactory correction. She went back to Mauritius after 3 weeks and was under regular follow-up by teleconsultation. SACIM, a non-profit organisation of Mauritius, was instrumental in helping this child undergo surgery.
